Jenny Vo-Phamhi
Jenny is currently an Ertegun Scholar (MSt, Classical Archaeology) with Oxford’s Lincoln College, having completed her BA with Honors in classics and her BS in computer science in 2020 at Stanford, where she was awarded a Hume Humanities Honors Fellowship for her honors thesis research. Her research centers on ancient trade, the Roman economy, and the development of new computational techniques to analyze artifacts. She has worked with the lab team in and out of the field, on the Marzamemi shipwreck in Sicily and thereafter through computational analysis of ceramic shapes and cargo patterns. She co-published an article in Archeologia e Calcolatori on these new methods and presented different aspects of the work at the annual meetings of the Archaeological Institute of America (2019, 2021, 2022). Most recently, she has extended the approach to questions of typology and formal variation within the 6th-c. BCE shipwreck cargo at Pabuç Burnu (Turkey).
