
Leopoldo Repola
Leopoldo is Associate Professor at DISTAR (Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra, dell'Ambiente e della Risorse) at Federico II University of Naples, and an expert in digital technologies for the survey and representation of archaeological sites and monuments both on land and underwater. Since 2000 he has been undertaking research into the role of digital technologies in architectural design processes. Currently he is engaged in studies of ancient architecture and historic buildings, the development of innovative systems for exhibition design, and the creation of immersive spaces and new methodologies for the reception of cultural heritage. He is a regular visitor to Stanford and works in the lab and field in Sicily, co-directing Project ‘U Mari and helping lead the broad heritage and museum development initiatives in the Marzamemi area.
