Sophia Wu

Sophia is a co-terminal MS student in Earth Systems, having majored as an undergrad in Classics and minored in Archaeology. She studied on the language track in Classics, and is interested in how material evidence informs or contests the literature and vice versa. She is also interested in human-nature interactions across time and their representations in visual and literary art. She has spent time working on projects integrating traditional ecological knowledge and Western science in developing ecotourism. After several summers in Marzamemi working with the survey team, she has been working on management and cataloging of the Marzamemi 2 shipwreck database as well as the analysis of marine circulation of plastics through an archaeological lens.
